This image shows a pregnant woman montaged next to a blown up puffer fish. They both have a big belly for different reasons. The Decay of Lying is an Oscar Wildesque piece. It is alsoabout photography itself. This photograph is a lie, in that it is a double exposure, what is seen never existed. The dimensions have been obscured.and it is calling attention to the many ways in which photogrpahy can be manipulated, in journalism, advertising and art. This piece was made before Photoshop and the like were popular, a time when people had more trust in photography as evidence. So it poses a double irony in the sense that it calls for more lies, whne they ahve been told all along.
