This photograph "Tribute to Foucault" is a play on my own work, as well as a tribute ot someone who has greatly inspired and influenced my thinking and artwork.Semiotics was a large part of my initial education in England, how language is contructed, used and how it means, is a building block of communication and photography is a language in itself.

 

When Foucault wrote "ce n'est pas une pipe" (this is not a pipe) what he means is - this is just an image of a pipe. So above is a image of a stereoscope, that is normally seen inside a stereoscope (one exactly like this one,a s this is one of mine), which creates an endless imaginary loop of stereoscopes. Of course here you are looking at it online, not through a stereoscope.
